balmaiden gin
In the twilight of Cornwall’s mining heyday, intrepid Cousin Jacks would venture overseas leaving loved ones behind.
Beloveds like the Bal Maiden of Wheal Ann, who walked the jagged, gorse-painted coastline singing a woeful tune, hoping the breeze would carry each note across the sea to her lover in a distant land. Today it is said that, as the sun rises over the waves, you can hear her haunting melody dancing over the cliffs.
Inspired by the gin she sipped to ease her sorrow, our Balmaiden Gin is made with fresh spring water. Fragrant with a slight bitterness, this gin warms every heart.
Conger Vodka
In a little-known hollow on the Helford Passage, the legendary King of the Congers roams free. Bright of eye and sharp of tooth, he is rarely seen but always sought, leaving many a tale of ruin in his wake.
Cornwall’s fishermen have been endlessly lured by fleeting glimpses of the Conger, emerging with empty hooks and a deepening obsession every time.
Conger is our vodka which shares this sea beast’s spirit. Free and alluring, it’s made with pure Cornish spring water for a crisp finish. Perfect to warm the spirits of those forlorn glory-seekers.
Bucca Rum
Beneath the cliffs, in the Cornish caves where foam meets rock, lurks the Bucca. Legend has it, smugglers would leave an offering of bootlegged booze to keep the sea-man-creature from stealing their booty.
In honour of the beast we’ve crafted our signature rum—enhancing the finest Caribbean spirit with local spices and honey from the Cornish Black Bees that make their hives at Wheal Anne, the abandoned mine that Tin Spirit calls home. And now we offer it to you, may you forever be at peace.
